Thin film technology specialist Leonard Kurz (KURZ) is showcasing its DM-Uniliner and the MJETeco at Labelexpo Americas 2022.
The DM-Uniliner digital embellishment unit, which is independent of printing systems and equipped with inkjet technology, has been designed for the narrow-web sector. Metallisation can be applied in pre-print or post-print processes. The overprinting of the metallised designs or holographic structures creates a variety of iridescent colour and light effects, giving designers and other creatives freedom to conceive their own colours, effects, substrates and other design details.
The MJETeco manufactured by MPrint, a KURZ company, is a standalone UV inkjet product for late-stage customisation. It relies on proven monojet technology, which ensures outstanding print quality and can be applied to a wide range of substrates – including difficult, open-pore materials. UV LED curable inks are used, which allows both conventional (flexo or offset printing) and digitally printed labels to be overprinted and customised.
The machine can handle a wide variety of applications, whether users are printing barcodes or serial numbers for security labels or complete back labels for wine and spirits. In addition to the versatile application possibilities, the machine is also distinguished by its impressive speed of up to 75 m/min. This makes it possible to efficiently customise large quantities in a short period of time without any problems.
