Matthews Australasia launches three real game-changer technologies

The inaugural all-of-industry processing and packaging expo was the perfect place for Matthews Australasia to launch several new technologies, introduce the Barcode Academy, and also host the first Retailer Engagement Hub in partnership with the Australian Food & Grocery Council’s Trading Partner Forum.

“For Matthews Australasia, APPEX was an outstanding success,” said Mark Dingley, CEO Matthews Australasia. “The first new tech release was the latest evolution of our Australian-developed and supported package code management [PCM] software, iDSnet. This no code/low code platform gets deployed for a purpose and was met with real interest by existing and new customers who came to our stand.

“We also had a lot of interest in our new Barcode Academy, a free resource that builds on our Barcode Learning Centres. Woolworths and Coles have been instrumental in helping to shape the development of the Barcode Academy’s comprehensive online training modules, which are designed to address common gaps in supply-chain knowledge.

Matthews Australasia also launched three new technologies that had never been on show before in Australia, which were met with equal interest: the world’s first black and white digital inkjet solution for paper-label replacement, the NoLabel Black & White Digital Inkjet Solution; the GSI Colorize Inline Single Pass Printing System, with SmartWHITE technology, that enables vivid printing on dark backgrounds; and the Edding Portable 12, a portable, high-resolution printer that will redefine internal production and logistics processes.

The NoLabel Black & White Digital Inkjet Solution is perfect for SKU reduction, increasing production throughput, while avoiding costly consumables such as ribbons, paper labels and thermal print heads as well as supply chain shortages of paper and adhesives

“Matthews is pleased that these three real game-changer technologies are now part of the offering we have for Australian manufacturers,” commented Mark Dingley.
