In recognition of his significant achievements with Orafol Australia, Alex McClelland has been promoted to Executive Vice-President, Asia-Pacific, effective from May 1, 2024, responsible for the fastest-growing markets globally. He was also recently appointed as a Board member of the Visual Connections industry association.

In a brief announcement, Orafol says: “This marks an exciting new era for Orafol in Asia, with Alex leading the region’s growth and expansion, with Australia at the forefront.”

Alex McClelland has an impressive record in the industry, having spent 15 years with Spandex Asia-Pacific and also a time with Mulfords Australia and Kodak. He hails from Glasgow, Scotland where he studied print technology at Glasgow College of Technology and also at Edinburgh College of Art.

Since joining Orafol in 2019, he has overseen the consolidation of Orafol’s 2017 acquisitions of its four Australian dealers, including Graphic Arts Supplies, into one strongly branded regional subsidiary of the Orienberg, Germany-headquartered major supplier of filmic and reflective materials. The regional HQ was relocated from Queensland to Erskine Park, Sydney, with branches in most states.

Throughout the Covid pandemic, OrafolAustralia was able to continue its supply chains thanks to effective forward-planning in logistics, experiencing strong growth during this time and after.

He also championed the establishment of the Orafol Creative Hub, which holds regular training and development classes for vehicle wrappers and sign makers.
