ePac Flexible Packaging, in a strategic move to further its commitment to innovation and industry leadership, has announced plans to convert its fleet of 58 presses to the cutting-edge HP Indigo Gen 5 200K. This multi-year agreement is set to revolutionise ePac Flexible Packaging’s portfolio, solidifying its position as an industry leader in the flexible packaging sector.
The HP Indigo 200K series, with its advanced capabilities including enhanced speed, quality, and versatility, is a game-changer for ePac Flexible Packaging. This digital press is designed to deliver a 30% increase in speed and a 45% boost in productivity compared to the HP Indigo 25 K, setting a new standard in the industry. Its gravure-matching colour quality, based on the HP Indigo Liquid Electro Photography (LEP) and One-Shot Color technologies, and its ability to print high coverage packages with white on most industrial substrates, both surface and reverse, make it a powerful tool for ePac’s innovative packaging solutions.
The expansion of ePac’s HP Indigo digital press fleet is a significant step in the company’s journey to meet the increasing demands of customers for high-quality, sustainable packaging. This strategic move not only demonstrates ePac’s commitment to its customers but also ensures the company maintains a competitive edge in the digital printing landscape.
ePac Flexible Packaging’s vision is to utilise digital print to give a voice to small and medium brands and revitalise local communities. Established in 2016 ePac has achieved annual growth rates of 50-100%, showcasing its consistent upward trajectory in the market.
In November 2022, ePacONE (One Network Everywhere) was launched, creating the world’s first and largest integrated network of packaging plants across the globe to serve all brands, regardless of run length.
Virag Patel, ePac’s CEO, said: “In our first eight years we were able to create a new market for small and medium-sized brands and build a technology foundation that enabled us to rapidly scale our operations, so our infrastructure is sound. We’ll serve 4500 to 5000 customers this year, and with that kind of volume workflow automation is critical to meeting our SLAs. Our commitment to technology will position ePac for the next phase of growth and serve larger, more complex customers – serving brands of all sizes.
“Our agreement with HP’s Indigo 200K platform seamlessly integrates with ePac Flexible Packaging business growth as the leader of the global digital flexible packaging movement and underscores ePac Flexible Packaging commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in the industry,” commented Patel.
Noam Zilbershtain, Vice President and General Manager of HP Indigo & Scitex, added: “HP Indigo and ePac Flexible Packaging have always had a joint vision for transforming the flexible packing space through digital innovation. Our HP Indigo 200K series with its significantly higher productivity, versatility and cost of print, will provide ePac the ability to go further and faster as it continues to disrupt this segment and deliver new value to its customers. This strategic agreement further signifies our commitment to this continued collaboration and an important step in our journey together.”
