Jet Technologies and Xaar have announced the latest evolution of the Versatex printbar platform — delivering greater versatility, higher speeds and expanded production capability for labels and packaging converters.
The Versatex ecosystem has been expanded beyond digital varnish with the launch of two new Versatex printbars: Digital Black and Digital Opaque White
Digital Black
Dedicated to high-speed variable data printing, Digital Black is designed for seamless integration into converting and finishing lines. The system is capable of printing variable QR codes, barcodes, sequential numbering, batch coding, expiry dates, variable text and graphics at speeds of up to 75 m/min.
This creates new opportunities for product traceability, authentication, track-and-trace applications and late-stage customisation without compromising production efficiency.
Digital Opaque White
This dedicated Versatex printbar has been engineered for high-opacity white applications across a broad range of substrates, opening new possibilities for premium labels, shrink sleeves and specialty packaging.
It is designed to replace screen printed Opaque White with comparable opacity to screen printing. This print bar can print fine white text and opaque solids in a single print, is overprintable and is variable data capable.
The upgraded Versatex printbar pushes performance to an entirely new level. With a speed of up to 75 m/min for digital gloss varnish, converters can now achieve true production-level speeds for digital gloss varnish applications — dramatically improving throughput while maintaining exceptional finish quality.
From tactile embellishments to fully compliant Braille production, the upgraded platform can now produce high-build effects up to 200µm. This allows converters to create premium textured embellishments, raised spot coatings, tactile packaging effects, functional Braille applications, digital cold foil adhesive layers plus matte and gloss contrast finishes.
Built for real production environments
The Versatex platform has been designed specifically for the realities of modern label and packaging production:
- Excellent performance on paper and filmic substrates
- Suitable for your Flexo press and suitable for your Finishing Line
- Modular architecture for future expansion
- No tooling requirements
- Reduced set-up waste compared to conventional processes
- Fully digital flexibility for short to medium runs
Whether producing wine labels, premium food packaging, health & beauty applications or industrial labels, Versatex delivers the flexibility modern converters demand.
The latest Versatex technology is now available for demonstration through Jet Technologies. Speak with the team to explore how digital embellishment, opaque white and specialty coating solutions can be integrated into your production workflow.
