Field Application Specialist – Flexo / Prepress

We are seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Field Application Specialist – Flexo / Prepress to join XSYS in Melbourne Australia.
The position involves servicing and maintenance of specialized equipment used within the Prepress Flexographic production environment. Ideally, the position will attract suitably qualified electrical engineers with the required industry certifications including exposure to software workflow. You will work closely with customers and internal teams, providing technical expertise, product training and troubleshooting across prepress processes and printing applications. Please note: This is NOT an IT/software support role!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide technical and application support within the flexographic printing environment
- Deliver customer training and technical workshops both on-site and remotely
- Support prepress workflows, plate-making processes, and related systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production environments
- Assist with new product installations, implementations, and customer onboarding
- Support sales teams through product demonstrations and technical expertise
- Prepare technical reports, training materials, and documentation
- Build strong relationships with customers across Australia
- Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and product developments
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience within flexographic printing, prepress, platemaking, or a similar production environment
- A background in technical service, field service, application support, or technical customer support
- Strong understanding of printing workflows and production processes
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Confidence delivering customer training and explaining technical concepts
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, organized, and customer-focused approach
- Willingness to travel regularly across Australia
- A valid driver’s license
