Auto ID Labelling Solutions (ALS) has been well known for its innovative automated labelling solutions, and the very latest of these were on show at APPEX, with world-class solutions from Zebra, Polytij and more creating plenty of interest with visitors.
Central to the display in Melbourne was the Zebra Print & Apply Applicator, a robust, reliable printer engineered by FOX IV, for whom ALS is Australia’s Master Distributor.
“This machine is easily integrated into workflows to deliver automated labelling at high speeds, with minimal downtime and maximum ease of operation, making it ideal for a variety of automated labelling applications from warehousing to food manufacture,” explained Director and Co-Founder Bill Boursianis, adding that the machine on stand was driven by in-house software developed by the ALS team of software engineers.
The company also showcased the Polytij industrial thermal printers which offer online and offline printing with up to six printheads, delivering up to six lines of print with bar codes, date codes, counters and more onto a wide range of smooth, uneven, porous and non-porous surfaces.
“With high-resolution printing of up to 600dpi and the advantages of high-quality HP ink technology, Polytij printers cater for a range of primary and secondary packaging applications like adding production and expiry dates to pre-printed or print-and-apply labels in a highly productive, automated process,” Bill explains.
The company was also keen to talk ink technology with visitors, bringing significant expertise in the area with its own R&D company and ink manufacturing plant in Campbellfield so highly rated that it is one of only ten ink fillers in the world – and the only one in Australasia – to be licensed to fill HP cartridges.
