Eclipse LF220-LAS offers inline and offline finishing

by Matthew Callahan

Drawing on over 10 years of experience in designing and manufacturing label finishing equipment, Eclipse Label Equipment exhibited its newly designed products for ‘Inline’ label production with the ability to go from a plain self-adhesive label stock to a printed and finished label with lamination and multiple printer compatibility.

Accompanying the ‘Print & Finish’ systems, was the new in-line laser label finishing machine – the Eclipse LF220-LAS – targeted at medium to large industrial users. The innovative system is equipped to cut and finish any label shape offline or to operate inline with multiple model label printers via the Eclipse built-in self-tensioning system of integrated dancer bars that fully regulate and synchronise the supply of labels into the finisher. For example, by plugging in a Memjet-based printer directly to the LF220 LAS, digitally printed on-demand labels can be produced at up to 25 metres per minute linear speed (subject to design and substrate).

The LF220-LAS can also operate offline to laminate, digitally laser cut, strip, finish and rewind jobs, fast, easily and reliably. The unit accepts up to 220 mm wide media stocks including pre-printed media rolls with a diameter of 400 mm. Substrates, including paper, BOPP or filmic labels can be kiss cut, perforated, through cut or simply marked.

With built-in brushes for better handling, movable cutting wheels and an easy-reach touch control system the Eclipse LF220-LAS is easy to set up and works with flexibility, stripping media after laser cutting, and rewinding labels and waste as needed.
