ecoporium forum informs, educates and inspires

by Matthew Callahan

This live experience is the latest evolution of the innovative ecoporium initiative from Ball & Doggett. Already, the forum comprises a website, ecoporium.com.au, podcasts and a range of resources designed to help businesses make more sustainable choices.

Zaidee Jackson, National Business Development Manager – Sustainable Packaging for Ball & Doggett, says the focus for APPEX was to ‘bring the platform to life’.

“Our industry is experiencing a once-in-a-generation shift, which gives us an unprecedented opportunity to make an impact and to elevate what we are doing individually, and with each other,” she explained.

“At APPEX, we wanted to create a forum that would provide education and information, and more importantly serve as a conduit to conversations and connections for the broader industry around how commercial decisions can support sustainable outcomes.

“The experience was designed to connect industry professionals with each other, and with domestic and international thought leaders to discover, learn and collaborate, and set the foundations for the kind of transformational partnerships which are needed to positively impact our shared economy.”

A daily program of presentations covered everything from global and local trends in packaging and labels; design, innovation and sustainability in branding; navigating change; the challenge of supply chains; plastics and the war on waste; and the availability of industry resources and support.

“Knowledge is an opportunity only when it is translated into action,” Zaidee says. “Through ecoporium, and the in-person experience at APPEX, we aimed to inform, educate and inspire, while encouraging the development of real, collaborative partnerships which deliver real, sustainable change while creating new and exciting opportunities for brands, for our industry, and for consumers.”
