Eleflex is an electromagnetic powder brake for unwinders and rewinders, designed by Italian manufacturer Re to optimise web tension control, reduce waste and increase efficiency in demanding industrial applications.
Its technology exploits the variation of the magnetic field generated by the current applied to the brake to change the viscosity of a special magnetic powder placed between the rotor and stator in order to regulate torque without generating residue or contaminating particles.
This makes it perfect for environments where the air must remain clean. With compact dimensions and stable mechanical behaviour, Eleflex works reliably even in the most sensitive applications.
The Eleflex brake is available in eight sizes, covering a wide torque range from 2 to 500 Nm, and heat dissipation from 24 to 1300 W.
Its special design reduces residual magnetism and mechanical friction, bringing residual torque down to less than 1% of nominal torque and ensuring a more stable voltage. The interaction between the coil, stator, rotor and magnetic powder allows precise and linear torque control, quickly adapting to process changes.
To further increase the life span and reliability of the brake or clutch, radiating rings or a fan can be integrated, or the two cooling systems can be combined in a special solution, called RV, to further enhance heat dissipation.
The Eleflex electromagnetic powder brake is ideal for printing presses (flexographic, gravure), food industries, clean rooms and anywhere where maximum hygiene, cleanliness and low residual torque are required.
