The AccurioShine 3600, which was launched at drupa last year, had its Australian debut at PacPrint. Konica Minolta proudly announced the sale of one of these compact, fully digital solutions to Officeworks, with whom they have enjoyed a decade of partnership,
The move marks Officeworks’ first step into the embellishment space. It will be installed at its print hub in North Rocks, Sydney. Officeworks already has 45 AccurioPress C4080 printers in operation at stores across Australia.
The AccurioShine 3600 uses the latest MGI varnish technology to add 2D and 3D gloss or foil effects from the prototyping stage to full production runs at a reasonable cost. The compact digital spot UV coater eliminates the complicated steps of traditional finishing systems. There are no screens, no plates and no cleaning between the jobs.
All that is needed is a digital mask to add varnish of varying thicknesses straight on top of toner or offset prints. This allows users to take on more lucrative short and medium print runs, prepare print runs faster and dies and produce more complex jobs on a wide range of substrates, toner and offset prints.
In addition, the AccurioShine 3600 is equipped with industry-leading automatic scanning technology and an eco-friendly LED curing system simplifies post-press processes.
Konica Minolta Australia Production and Industrial Print General Manager Andrew Cocker remarked that the AccurioShine will open up new opportunities and new revenue streams for Officeworks which will allow them to deliver greater products to their customer base.
