Labelmakers Melbourne has announced the successful installation of a SAMM 3.0 automatic mounting machine from AV Flexologic B.V. Gary McQuiggan, Owner of Gmacgraphics, and Labelmakers’ skilled Senior Service Engineer Erik Hartog provided on-site implementation and training.
“From my perspective, the latest tape applicator and cutter is a game changer,” noted Gary McQuiggan. “It’s so quick and accurate. We taped and mounted an eight-colour job in 32 minutes. 100% accuracy on the quality check and basically no physical input required. The mounter, Johnny, who had just two days of training, laughed and said it’s added 10 years to his working life.”
The third generation automatic SAMM 3.0, which had its international debut at last year’s drupa, claims to be the world’s fastest and most accurate flexo plate mounter with unmatched repeatability and speed. The machine comes with a completely new mechanical, visual and user interaction design.
It operates at an impressive rapid mounting speed of under 30 seconds per plate at the same time ensuring precision mounting with ≤5μm accuracy and meeting the demands for higher quality and reduction of press downtime. It also reduces operator time, skill level and dependence. A further benefit is the inclusion of real-time quality reporting and status LEDs.
