At the APPMA Awards for Excellence held in Melbourne during APPEX Trimatt Systems took out the prestigious Australian Manufacturer Machinery Award – SME for the second consecutive time with its short-run packaging colour digital print system ColourStar AQ. The Melbourne-based company won the same category in 2022 after the Cardline 7000 was selected by judges for the top prize.

Managing Director Matt Johnson paid tribute to the 10-strong team at Trimatt, from engineers to administration. “Everyone played a part in the development of the ColourStar AQ, which is proving to be a real success story for its users,” he said. “It helps packaging businesses open new markets in short-run, on-demand markets, keeping manufacturing in Australia. There are already dozens of installations across Australia and New Zealand in diverse industries from packaging, coffee and e-commerce.”

The Trimatt ColourStar AQ is an all-in-one, customisable, industrial digital colour printing solution, making in-house package printing fast, economical and profitable.

With the integrated friction feeder, adjustable receiving tray, 297 mm print width, 100  mm+ height adjustable print head, and conveyor, it offers a complete ‘on demand’, short-run CMYK digital printing solution with a printing speed of 27 metres per minute.

Using waterproof, light-fast, and scratch-resistant inks, brilliant photo-quality prints can be produced with ease on packaging boxes, lunch bags, valved coffee bags, burger packs, lunch trays, pizza boxes, envelopes, sachets, paper bags, kebab sleeves and many other porous, paper, and cardboard items.
