Epson had a successful China Print tradeshow in Beijing, celebrating the sale of six SurePress L-5034 units in the country and launching two new machines at the event – its SureColor P9380 and SureColor P7380.
The SurePress L-5034 is a new commercial inkjet label press enabling high-speed printing that’s ideal for short- to mid-run jobs, producing labels with outstanding scratch and weather resistance.
The newly developed PrecisionCore linehead and centre drum system deliver high-quality images on a broad range of substrates, from non-coated textured papers to metallised stocks. The space-saving, compact design integrates all the functions required for label production.
The SurePress L-5034 water-based inkjet press uses a high-speed single-pass system instead of the multi-pass system of Epson’s existing water-based inkjet models, enabling approximately four times faster printing speed.
The press incorporates Epson’s newly designed 1,200 dpi print head, ensuring outstanding image quality for fine details, small text, and smooth gradations. The AQ Optimizer and Hybrid Dryer, also newly developed, are designed to match offset print quality in a single pass.
With an advanced six-colour ink set (CMYK plus Orange and Green) SurePress L-5034 offers an impressive colour gamut and extensive Pantone coverage, while adhering to major chemical substance restrictions for safety in food-related consumer goods.
The new press will have its European launch at Labelexpo Europe, which takes place at the Fira Barcelona in Spain from September 16 to 19. The Epson stand will also feature an extensive range of of ColorWorks on-demand colour label printers, including the C8000e series, which is designed for high-volume label production while reducing costs associated with pre-printing, such as label waste and over-stocked inventory.
